OTOLITH EARRINGS
from $78.00

Species: Hardhead Catfish (Arius felis)

Habitat: Gulf of Mexico; Mobile Bay

Product Description: Hidden deep within a catfish skull, otoliths are tiny calcified structures that aid in buoyancy and navigation.

Along the Gulf Coast, these remarkable finds are known as “lucky stones” and were carried for centuries by sailors as talismans of luck, protection, and safe passage during turbulent seas.

Each pair has been excavated by hand from a specimen foraged along the Gulf Coast and lightly gilded to highlight the intricate ridges.

Note: Some pieces retain their natural points or sharp edges, characteristics inherent to the artifact. By purchasing, you accept responsibility for safe wear.

Care Guide: MARAGILD is created from genuine foraged materials and finished by hand. Over time, exposure to air, skin, oils, humidity, and light may cause subtle shifts in color or patina. To preserve finish, keep in the original pouch when not wearing.

Materials: Genuine otolith hand-painted with metallic gilding material, cured UV resin, 14k gold-filled earring post and backings

*Model images are rendered artificially to keep earrings unworn.
